Career Pathway Mentoring Center
Increase website visibility:
- Create a company page for your business
- Create/update your LinkedIn account, reflecting yourself as the CEO of your company (people can visit/follow your company page from your profile). Add social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) accounts to your website, so that people can like/follow your page and/or posts
- Get recommendations, on LinkedIn, from people you have worked with. This will show additional credibility.
- Post/like content, on LinkedIn, relevant to your company, so you gain/maintain visibility to your network
- Go to networking events, and hand out information about your company. I would be happy to provide more information about the networking event I mentioned that is coming up at the end of February. There are meetup groups, in career and business development, which may also be interested in utilizing your services.
- Follow people, on LinkedIn, who are involved with career advancement at their school, place of work, etc. These contacts may connect with you, follow you, or express interest in the expertise you offer. If you like/share one or more of their posts, their entire network will see this, providing you with visibility in both your network, as well as theirs. Others may see that you liked/shared their post, and connect with you. Many of these people are in the same (or similar) industries, and may lead to current/additional clients for your company.
- The following are statistics from my LinkedIn network:
- More than 5,000 people in career advancement and career mentoring professions in the Chicago area.
- More than 18,000 people in career mentoring in the Chicago area.
- The following are statistics from my LinkedIn network:
- Join groups that are related to career/job advancement, and like posts within those groups. This will also give you additional visibility (within the LinkedIn group), as well as visibility to people, in the industry, within that group.
- Create a free Instagram profile, post links/articles/information about career advancement, and follow people who are career coaches or in career advancement. This will show your expertise in the field. People may follow you, based on this expertise, and can then see your website, and the services you offer. The algorithm Instagram uses may suggest your profile to other users, and, if these other users follow you, your profile may be suggested to additional users.
- Add a Google Calendar with your upcoming events to your website. This will also allow people to add your calendar to their Google Calendar, and see all of your upcoming events.
- Add your events to Eventbrite, which is an event publication website, so that people can R.S.V.P. to, pay for, and attend them.
- Add a section on your website where people can get a small sample of the services you offer, “5 Ways To (Achieve Stated Goal)“. Offer a few ideas. Tell your audience about the benefits they’ll gain from utilizing your services and then offer a link to “Create a booking”, or “Purchase a book.” You can even offer a limited-time discount, with an exclusive coupon code. Once they see the benefits of the services you offer, they will likely want to learn/purchase more.
- Offer a link, on your website, to get on your email newsletter; they’ll get exclusive offers or services by joining.
